An exceptional and rare example of one of Leonard and Lula Weebothee's signed squash blossom necklaces with lovely natural turquoise. Their work is among the very best Zuni silver work and this piece is one of their rare designs. Leonard was brother of Lee and Fannie Weeboithee Ondelacy and this couple are among the all-time master artists on this type of jewelry.
The form is unusual and has a superb, balanced, aesthetic. The turquoise is lovely, probably Sleeping Beauty mine, and all from the same mine. The necklace is strung on foxtail chain, which is the strongest and most flexible option.
There are twelve blossoms and a hand made hook and eye closure. Condition is excellent vintage, wearable and collectible. Consistent with the age it is not signed for silver content but it is at least coin silver at.900 or sterling silver at.
